Skin Health First was founded in 2025 by Madison Lee, who started this organization as a high school student passionate about dermatology and preventative health.
She noticed that although many organizations work to address essential needs like food and clothing, access to skin health education and basic skincare resources was often overlooked. While researching the effects of UV exposure on developing skin cancer for her capstone project, Madison discovered that skin cancer is one of the most common cancers — yet many cases can be prevented through simple habits like wearing sunscreen and avoiding tanning beds. That realization turned her research into action.
What began as a school project quickly grew into a community-driven initiative. Today, Skin Health First is dedicated to raising awareness about skin health, promoting preventative care, and expanding access to educational resources so that individuals of all backgrounds have the knowledge and tools to protect their skin and improve their overall health.
